The sunblock worked as a protective layer that blocked UV light from penetrating my skin, leading to burns. Without the sunblock, the skin would burn in an hour or so. Sun rays have the same damaging effects on your cars paint.
UV light is invisible and powerful. UV rays emit an electromagnetic spectrum wavelength that can be as small as 10 nanometers to as large as 400 nanometers. Thats basically a span of light smaller than visible light and longer than x-ray emissions.
Whats amazing is that the UV light that hits our skin and cars paint is less than 10 percent of the electromagnetic radiation that is produced by the sun.

Either spray the colour coat or use a fine paint brush or cocktail stick to build up thin layers. The key is to build the paint to just below the level of the surrounding clear coat. Oxidation can be broadly classified into three grades. See which description best fits the state of your car:
Mild Oxidation

Youll find a list of factory colours that cars like yours were painted that year. If you have a white vehicle and there is only one white listed for it, just buy that one. If you dont know the colour number for your car, youll have to find it on your vehicle identification plate. This can be challenging. The plate may be located under the hood on the cowl, near the radiator shield or on the jamb of the drivers door. Some owners manuals will tell you where to look, or a quick call to your dealer will help.
Once you find the number, buy a small bottle of touch-up paint. If you cant find the correct colour at the display, check with the dealer. Dealers often carry colours for the cars they sell. Eventually, the clear coat on a car will weaken and start to peel off. This happens most often when a car is kept outside in the sun for extended periods of time, or if its poorly resprayed. In my experience, this occurs more frequently on darker colored cars. Im pretty sure thats because they get hotter in the sun and then cool off at night, resulting in a more radical change in temperature throughout each day. Paint may also start to crack or peel from impact damage.
The only way to fix this is to have the area sanded down and resprayed, either at a body shop or by a mobile spray paint service. This can be quite expensive, especially if the damage is all over. So, I suggest that you dont spend the money if the peeling has been caused by sun damage. By the time this happens on a car, it usually has too many miles on it for it to be worth it.
Apply Primer Or Color To Scratch
Follow the instructions on the product you bought to apply the paint. Typically, this will either involve a pen-like applicator or a nail polish-like brush application. Your product may even offer both, in which case you should select one based on how wide the abrasion is.
Youll have some overlapping paint around the damaged area. This is fine! Just try to minimize the overlap as much as you can. Wipe away any abundant excess.
