Drawing cars, really any vehicle, is a lot of fun for me because I used to work for Ford. I LOVED drawing cars when I was a kidso this brought back a lot of memories.

When drawing them, its always easier to either draw them from a direct view. Either draw a side view or a front view. For this lesson were drawing a formula 1 styled race car from a direct sideview.

Usually I always start with a ground line, then add the wheels, then draw the rest of the car. In my opinion it helps make drawing a car easier, if you start in that order.

Cartoon cars are fun, especially for kids. Unlike the regular kids drawing cars a cartoon car has eyes, nose and mouth. Whats more, it smiles too! So here is how your child can draw a cartoon car in a few steps.

    You Will Need:

An A4 sheet or drawing book, pencil, eraser, sharpener, stencil with different shapes, and a scale ruler.

    How To:

  • Lets start with the cars eyes, nose, and mouth. Start by drawing two small circles, a few centimeters apart, on the right-hand side of the page. Draw another tiny circle inside each circle the smaller circle is to the left of the larger circle and dark. This forms the eyes, which also act as the headlights. A little below the eyes, just between them, draw three small lines to form the nose. A little below the nose, draw a banana shaped mouth, as shown in Figure 4.1.
  • For the body of the car, start with the bumper a bigger banana shape under the mouth. From the right end of the bumper, draw the body as shown in the image. Add the base of the car, connected to the left corner of the bumper, with a provision for the wheels. See Figure 4.2.
  • Make the wheels by drawing two circles in the space where they go. Draw a trapezoid, with the body as the base, with one end on the center of the hood and the other on the trunk as shown in Figure 4.3.
  • Draw the lining for the hood. Draw a line to divide the trapezoid into two for the windows. A rectangle right below the window will make the door.
  • Color it to complete it!
  • Follow These Directed Drawing Instructions That Make A Fast Race Car Drawing Easy:

  • First draw the wheels of the cartoon race car. Start by drawing a medium-sized circle slightly to the left of the page for the back wheel of the race car. To the left of the first circle, draw a second smaller circle for the front wheel of the race car. Inside each wheels circle, draw smaller circles for the hub caps.
  • Next, draw the bottom and back of the race car body. Draw a straight line connecting the first wheel to the second, and then two more little lines on either side. Then draw a vertical line up from the little line on the right to make the back of the race car.
  • Now draw the rest of the race car body. Connect the top of the back line to the tip of the front line with a wavy diagonal line, to finish the body of the race car. Draw an arc on the wavy line starting above the back wheel to a spot above the front wheel, to make the roof of the race car.
  • Lets add a driver and some lights to the fast race car. Insert a little circle on top of the wavy line under the roof for a race car drivers helmet, and finish it with a half moon shape for the visor. Draw a small half moon in the front and one in the back to make the lights on the race car.
