Most modern mapping apps now have a built-in feature that remembers where you parked your vehicle.
That includes Apple Maps and now, Google Maps for iOS.
As with most Google app features, this first debuted on Android but making it to Apples mobile operating system.
While the Apple Maps feature is relatively intuitive, this guide is for the Google Maps users among us. Heres how to get the app to remember where you parked your car.
How The Parked Car Feature Works
You don’t need Apple’s CarPlay to get this feature: As long as your car has a Bluetooth stereo and you own an iPhone 6 or later, you should be able to use the Parked Car feature.
The feature works via Bluetooth Low-Energy pairing: When you turn off your car, it disconnects your iPhone from the car’s Bluetooth connection. When that happens, your iPhone automatically makes a note of where the pairing disconnected and adds a Parked Car marker down in that spot.
Once you return to your car and turn it on again, your iPhone removes that marker .
If You Dont See Your Parked Car In Maps
Make sure your iPhone is paired to CarPlay or Bluetooth in your car, then make sure of the following settings:

Location Services is turned on in Settings > Privacy.

Significant Locations is turned on in Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services.

Show Parked Location is turned on in Settings > Maps.
Note: Your parked car isnt marked at a location where you frequently park, like at home or work.

How To Save Where Youve Parked
Step 1: Set location services to Always
The will only save your parking information if you have your location services set to Always. To set your location services to Always go to Settings > Google Maps > Location > Set to Always
Step 2: Pair your device to your car
For the most accurate results, link your device to your car. Especially if you have Apple CarPlay.

You can save your parking location so you can remember where you left your car.
Note: your parking location will be saved in Google Maps until you remove it.
What If Your Car Doesn’t Show Up
If you’ve confirmed that the Parked Car feature is on in Settings along with Location Services, but still can’t get your car to show up on the map, you may not have a compatible Bluetooth stereo system.
Most every modern Bluetooth stereo and aftermarket system is compatible, but earlier car models may not work with the Parked Car feature .

Find Your Car With Ar By Augmented Works
If you choose Find Your Car with AR, open the app before you leave your car and tap the I parked here button. When it’s time to find your car, launch the app again. A large red arrow points in the direction of your car just follow that arrow.
You can change the display from a conventional map to a satellite or between a regular or augmented reality map. The AR map shows you your actual surrounding area so you can see what’s nearby as you walk to the car.

How To Mark Parking Location In Google Maps
Google Maps, one of the popular apps that are used for navigation purposes has added a feature – Save your parking location. This feature will let you remember where you had parked your vehicle. All you have to do is just park your car and open the app and mark the location. It will store all the details and help you find your car easily.
The new feature will save your current location and slap a noticeable P icon on the map. This would not be enough for a multi-story parking lot. You can add a new interface to save other information. For instance, you can adjust the dot location, type notes or add photos to the parking spot.

When Youre Ready To Find Your Spot
You should note that Google Maps will only save one parking location at once. So if you save a second location this will overwrite your stored location.

Google Maps Can Now Tell You Where You Parked Your Car
“Hey dude, where’s my car” — never again will you have to utter these words, courtesy of a new Google Maps feature that lets you save your parking location on a map.
Originally launched as part of a Google Maps beta in , the feature just went live on Android and iOS.
To activate the feature on Android, tap the blue dot and choose “Save your parking,” and a label will appear on the map, showing you where you parked. You can even add a note to give yourself more precise instructions for later, add a timer , send your parking location to a friend or save an image of the spot.
On the iPhone, the procedure is almost the same: Tap the blue dot and choose “Set as parking location ” after that, you get the same options as on the Android version of the app.
Bear in mind that this is different to Google Maps’ automatic parking detection, which figures out where you’ve parked without your intervention.
To get the new feature, just upgrade your Maps on Android or iOS to the latest version. The app is available here on Android and iOS.

Remember Where You Parked With Google Maps
Some say its about the journey, not the destinationbut we think its about a little of both. Now, Google Maps for Android and iOS will not only help you get where youre going, but itll help you remember where you parked once youve arrived. Heres how it works:
For Android users, tap the blue dot and then tap Save your parking to add your parking location to the map. Youll see a label on the map itself identifying where you parked your car. Tap on that label to open up your parking card, where you can add additional details about your parking spot. You can add a note like level 3, spot 35, add the amount of time left before the meter expires , save an image of your parking spot, and send your parking location to friends.
On iOS, the new experience is pretty similar. Tap on the blue dot and then tap on Set as parking location to add your parking spot to the map itself. Tap on the parking label on the map to open up your parking card and do things like share it with friends and view pictures of your parking area. This is in addition to the automatic parking detection you might have already noticed in Google Maps for iOS. If you connect to your car using USB audio or bluetooth, your parking spot will be automatically added to the map when you disconnect and exit the vehicle.

The app does take a couple of seconds while it tries to get a more precise location of your car, but its not too much of a hindrance.

Most parking lots will have signs with numbers to call in case you need help, so just pick up your phone and dial the number.
