Holding your razor scraper at a 20-30 degree angle, get the corner of the blade under the edge of the decal and lift.
Step 2: Peel off the decal. Peel the decal across itself. If you have the upper right corner, peel the decal down and to the left, holding the vinyl decal close to the window.
An old decal will be dried on and the adhesive will be very difficult to remove in one piece. It will likely tear into smaller pieces, and you will need to repeat these first few steps multiple times to get the vinyl off the window.
Step 3: Heat the adhesive if needed. Gently heating the decal with a heat gun or hair dryer can make the decal adhesive soft again so its easier to remove.
- Warning: Keep the heat gun moving over the decal and dont heat the glass more than comfortably warm to the touch. Overheating the glass can cause it to shatter.
After removing the decal, youll be left with tacky vinyl adhesive like sticker residue on the window.
Step 4: Remove the residue from the window. If you have a spray residue remover, spray it directly onto the sticky residue.
Use your plastic razor blade or razor scraper to work the residue loose from the window glass. It will form clumps as you work the razor over the glass.

Removing Decals From Glass

Though the above methods are our personal favorites for sticker removal, others can work as well. Here are some additional sticker removal methods, plus some techniques on removing tough adhesives:
Essentially the opposite of the above technique, some people rave about using ice to freeze the adhesive from their cars. Just take a bag of ice, hold it against the sticker for several minutes and attempt to peel the sticker away. If its still adhering, hold the ice against the sticker for another minute or two.
WD-40
This famously versatile lubricating spray also works as a great sticker remover. First, spray an ample amount of WD-40 onto the sticker and allow it to seep into the adhesive for several minutes. Then, slowly start peeling the sticker away from the cars surface.
In addition, WD-40 works as a fantastic remover for any adhesive left behind after taking a sticker off of both glass and paint.
Goo Gone
Goo Gone is a wonderful product for removing stickers. After all, thats what it was created for. However, unlike the above methods, it will likely mean a special trip to the store.
If you dont mind the extra effort, spray Goo Gone onto the sticker. Then, allow it to seep into the edges of the stickers adhesive for several minutes before slowly removing the sticker.
