Output: 1,817 hpAnother theoretical speedking, the Texas-based speedhouse claims its newest homegrown hypercar is good for a whopping 311 mph. Based on the 266-mph performance of the Lotus-ish first-gen Venom, we wouldn’t be unduly surprised to see it claim the world record. A meaty 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-8 screams out 1,817 hp and 1,193 lb-ft, so expect at least 300 mph on the speedo. Try it for yourself, provided you have $1.8 million to burn.
Tesla Model S Plaid: 0
The fastest electric saloon car here is the one that started it all: the Tesla Model S. The recently unveiled Model S Plaid is the quickest version of the car yet. It has three electric motors, produces 1,009bhp and can accelerate from 0-62mph in 1.99 seconds.
Priced at just under £120,000, the Model S Plaid will arrive in the UK towards the end of 2022, as will the updated version of the Tesla Model X SUV, which will also be available in Plaid form. Lotus Evija – under three seconds
The most powerful production car in the world? Lotus is talking a big game with its Evija hypercar, an EV that is set to arrive with 1973bhp sent to all four wheels and a top speed of over 200mph. The company is keeping mum on exact specifications for now, but that hasnt stopped an entire years worth of allocation from being sold already, at more than £2 million each.
Pininfarina Battista – under two seconds
With a powertrain sourced from Rimac, it stands to reason that Pininfarinas luxury EV should come close to matching the C_Two on performance terms. It will use four motors to deliver up to 1900bhp and 1696lb ft of torque, but the company is only saying its sprint time will be under two seconds. Specifics will have to wait until the first customer cars arrive and someone puts it against the clock.
Croatian EV pioneer Rimac already proved it could make an impressive EV with its Concept_One, but the C_Two promises to be even faster. 1900bhp from four motors, a top speed of 256mph and narrowly dipping under two seconds in the 60mph sprint, it should be a true demonstration of just what can be achieved with EV car design.

Despite volumes of controversy surrounding SSC North America’s recent top speed debacle, the new $1.9 million SSC Tuatara hypercar legitimately claimed the title as the fastest car in the world in early 2021 with a verified two-way average speed of 282.9 mph in Florida. A staggering speed, but a longshot from the Tuatara’s alleged one-way top speed run of an astounding 331.15 mph through the Nevada desert. With absurdly slippery aero and a twin-turbo 5.9-liter V-8 pushing out up to 1,750 hp, SSC promises a future verified run that will break the 300-mph mark.
