Next, youll want to grab your primer and spray in a side to side motion. Try to find a primer that is similar in color to your cars paint to avoid any subtle differences in the final product. Use A Scratch Remover
In some cases where your self-test shows your scratch is not shallow but not deep either, a scratch-removal product might do the trick.
A dime to quarter-sized bead is enough. Apply it on your towel or pad, then buff away. Use a circular motion as you work the product in, and be careful to apply evenly light pressure.
Do this across the entirety of the scratched area, and even surrounding areas. Wipe off excess product with the towel.
Pause and check the area from time to time as you work. If the scratch is still visible, dont despair and simply repeat step #4.
Eventually, the area will blend in with the rest of the surface, which means you did it!

Machine Buffing Your Car For Complete Beginners
Machine buffing is much faster and more effective in removing deep scratches. It produces an even finish with half or even a quarter of the product required to complete the job by hand.
An experienced detailer can machine buff a car in a couple of hours, where youll need the entire weekend to do it by hand and still wont get the same quality of results.
While true, the detailing community has produced an excessive amount of content and documentation on virtually every type of buffing machine, pad, and compound.
TIP: We always recommend getting a couple of panels from the local scrap yard and performing your first buffing job on those. This will allow you to test your machine and set up and remove the anxiety of scratching your cars paint.
Regular Gentle Car Wash
Step 1
Pour water over the surface of the scratch and rinse the car well. If youre using a hose, make sure the speed isnt set too high.
Step 2
Use car washing soap or liquid detergent to wash the scratch, and scrub it with a microfiber cloth or a soft sponge. Do not use any kind of powdered detergent because it might cause more scratches as you clean with it.
