The Prelude began life as a sportier, more advanced version of the Accord coupe. Offered with a standard sunroof in 1979, the Prelude excelled as a sporty coupe. Honda needs to “get in the game” and bring back the Prelude. If they make sure it’s powerful, lightweight, and affordable, it can help the brand recapture some of it’s sporty reputation in a way that no Civic SI or Accord coupe can.

Third Generation Honda Prelude: 1988
The third-generation Prelude is where things really pick up technologically. It debuted for the 1988 model year with then-revolutionary four-wheel-steering, beating other Japanese manufacturers nascent 4WS systems to the punch. The third-generation Prelude would have a facelift in 1989, with a new rear and front bumper and a revised interior. Plus, the Prelude INX was introduced to the Japanese domestic market. The fourth generation Prelude broke cover in 1991, and it had an electronic four-wheel steering system and a variety of engines that ranged from a H22A SiR VTEC engine in Japan, to a 2.3i engine in Europe. The Super Cub C100 completed at Saitama Factory in July 1958 was an instant hit upon its release the following month, generating record sales.
