Electric cars have been around almost as long as gasoline-powered automobiles. This may come as a surpriseâbut electric cars were once a viable alternative. This is because, in the early days of gasoline cars, engines were clunky, unreliable, and difficult to control.
The first electric car was developed sometime in the 1830s. This unsophisticated vehicle wasnât much more than a novelty, but it worked. Electric cars first became practical in the 1880s, when batteries, motors, and switches were advanced enough to propel a vehicle more than a few yards.
Around 1900, Thomas Edison began experimenting with improved electric car batteries. At this time, the majority of cars were powered by gasoline, but there were numerous competitive steam-powered cars and electric vehicles. Though gas was on top, the future of automobiles was, by no means, set in stone at this point.
At the turn of the century, cars were an expensive luxury for the rich and powerful. Most people had never even seen a car before, but that was about to change.

Tesla’s initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States has been the subject of considerable criticism. Musk had sought to exempt the Tesla Fremont factory in Alameda County, California from the government’s stay-at-home orders. In an earnings call in April, he was heard calling the public health orders “fascist”. He had also called the public’s response to the pandemic “dumb” and had said online that there would be zero cases by April. In May 2020, while Alameda County officials were negotiating with the company to reopen the Fremont Factory on the 18th, Musk defied local government orders by restarting production on the 11th. Tesla also sued Alameda County, questioning the legality of the orders, but backed down after the Fremont Factory was given approval to reopen. Tesla published a detailed plan for bringing employees back to work and keeping them safe, however some employees continued to express concern for their health.

Internet Tesla Car Search
I spent hours searching for additional material on the internet. Amazingly, Tesla’s name has gone from obscurity in 1984 to probably one of the most commercialized names on the net. It’s kind of pathetic that 90% of the sites were nothing more than book sales sites and in a lot of cases Tesla’s name was included to generate a hit on the search engine as I could not find any Tesla material there. It was a classic demonstration as to how much of a two-edged sword the InterNet has become.
There is a lot of valuable information on the web, but there is also a lot of misinformation and redundant information. Redundancy in itself is not bad, but when you go to a site for original information and all that it offers is a link back to where you have already been… it becomes a time waster.
The Amazon affiliate book sites are the worst… and none of them have any really good book reviews. Most of them just post the book, possibly a very short review copied from Amazon, and a link to Amazon.
All I will say further on the matter is if TeslaTech members want to truly support and insure the free energy movement, then they need to stop buying from Amazon and patronize the inventors and sites that truly advance free energy. It may cost a few dollars more now, here and there, but it helps those who PRODUCE the material to survive. The alternative is… save a dollar now, and be stuck with reruns later.

Eberhard And Tarpenning Both Left Tesla But Eberhard Is Happy With The Electric Car Revolution
Eberhard, now living in Washingtons San Juan Islands and working on making EV batteries more affordable, told Forbes he sold a good chunk of his Tesla stock a while ago, and though he still has a relatively small stake in the company, hes not a billionaire.
Musk has trashed Eberhard in the press, but Eberhard declined to talk about the current Tesla CEO to Forbes, citing a non-disparagement clause in his 2009 settlement. Tesla, originally Tesla Motors, started out in 2003 when a group of engineers, who had a passion for electric cars, wanted to show people that they didn’t need to compromise when considering buying one.
They strived to develop their own range of cars that could be, in the company’s words, “better, quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars.”

One of the main motivations for starting Tesla was the recent retirement of the General Motors EV1 program. General Motors ran this program for only three years between 1996 and 1999 and produced a limited run of cars.
The vehicles were never released for public purchase, but were considered a great success from an engineering point of view.
Inspired by this, Tesla Motors’ founding engineers, Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning began the company in July of 2003. They became Tesla’s CEO and CFO respectively.
The pair funded the startup themselves until the company opened up for Series A funding from external investors.
Musk was already a successful entrepreneur at the time, and had made his fortune working for PayPal. He helped lead the Series A funding and invested millions of his own capital, becoming the company’s chairman.

From 2015 to 2020, Tesla went on an acquisition spree, buying a handful of little-known companies: Riviera Tool, Grohmann Engineering, Perbix, Compass Automation, Hibar Systems, and German ATW Automation to advance Tesla’s expertise in automation, along with Maxwell Technologies and SilLion to add to Tesla’s abilities in battery technology. Grohmann and Maxwell would continue to operate as subsidiary companies, while the rest would be merged into Tesla. In July 2021, Musk acknowledged that Tesla had sold Maxwell to the former VP of sales for Maxwell.
