Transfer Your Number Plate Via The Department Of Motor Vehicles Office
In this method, follow the following steps.
Gather all the essential information and documents. These include the documents of both the cars.
You will require to submit proof of the active registration of the car you wish to transfer the license plate from and the title certificate of the new car you wish to transfer the number plate too.
However, if the DMV office possesses all this information, you need not carry the above documents at the time of transferring.
Since the above process involves a small fee, make sure to carry some bucks for hassle-free and quick work.
Once youve gathered all the documents mentioned above, take them to the DMV office and their officer will transfer the number plate and install it on your new car.
You can also get the number plate installed from outside after successfully transferring it.
When You Get Your New Sticker
Your licence plate is not valid if the validation sticker is not attached to it.
Keep your old licence plate sticker on until you get the new one.
As soon as you receive your new sticker, attach it to the upper right-hand corner of your rear licence plate or on the front plate for a commercial vehicle.

Motor Vehicle Lighting Laws In Ontario Canada
Lets explore a popular, but often not well understood, aspect of Ontario Traffic Law: vehicle lighting. The Highway Traffic Act contains a number of provisions requiring or prohibiting and restricting certain types of lights on vehicles being operated on the roadways. Commercial vehicles are subject to a considerable amount of additional requirements, but for the purpose of this article we will not be dealing with those regulations.
Most of the regulations dealing with lights are found in Section 62 of the Highway Traffic Act1, with some additional ones being found in the Ontario Regulations2. According to the Act, lights are required from one half hour before sunset to one half hour after sunrise, or at any time where atmospheric conditions prevent vehicles or persons being clearly seen at a distance of 150 meters.
The Highway Traffic Act says nothing specific about under carriage neon lighting, nor about any other specific colours than those mentioned above, so, as long as they conform to the above specifications, they should, in theory, be permitted. One thing to be aware of with respect to under carriage lighting is that a red light may cast a glow around the vehicle that is visible from the front of the vehicle, even though the light is not specifically positioned on the front of the vehicle.

What’s The Difference Between A Registration License Plate And Tag
The vehicle registration is part and parcel with the license plate and tag. As part of the registration process, a vehicle’s owner will receive either a registration card or certificate that remains with the vehicle. But for quick, external identification of the vehicle and which state it was registered in, license plates get issued by the state’s motor vehicles department and the new registrations. The registration tag requirements differ state by state, but the tags also are part of the registration process. A tag signifies an up-to-date registration.
The tag typically a sticker is often placed on the license plate and comes as part of the registration renewal. This allows for easy confirmation of a valid registration without replacing the plates. Learn more about car insurance requirements by state.
